Romeo came to us after he had been dumped by his owners. He showed up on someone's porch who brought him tous. We managed to learn where he had come from. Poor Romeo had lost more than 10 pounds in the previous 10 days. Romeo did not like it at the shelter. When he was taken out for a walk he did not want to go back in his kennel and really resisted. He was cranky and out of sorts. We eventually learned that he had been adopted as a very small puppy and had spent most of the first year of his life in a crate. Suddenly his behavior made sense to us. He has been living with our Doggie Rehabber at Sammie's Pit Stop. He has become a very stable dog, gets along with everyone and can be counted on to stay out of the fray when the other dogs have little scraps. Romeo would make a great dog for someone who is quite active and lives in a peaceful environment. He is up to date on shots, neutered and heartworm negative. The woman who adopted Romeo, but it wasn't a match with her dogs, said that Romeo got along well with her cats and kittens.
